What Really Attracts Men
9 Dangerous Mistakes Women Make That Men Find Totally Unattractive.
www.CatchHimAndKeepHim.com
The Book of Shadows (BOS) is used to store information you'll need in your magical tradition. Many Pagans and Wiccans feel a BOS should be handwritten, but some use a computer to store information as well. Bear in mind that a BOS is considered a sacred tool, which means it is an item of power that should be consecrated with all of your other magical tools. Copy spells and rituals into your BOS by hand – this will not only transfer energy to the writer, but it also helps you to memorize the contents. Make sure you write legibly enough that you’ll be able to read your notes during a ritual!
Difficulty: Average
Time Required: Varied
Here's How:
1.To make your Book of Shadows, begin with a blank notebook. A popular method is to use a three-ring binder so items can be added and rearranged as needed. If you use this style of BOS, you can use sheet protectors as well, which is great for preventing candle wax and other ritual drippings from getting on the pages! Whatever you select, your title page should include your name. Make it fancy or simple, depending on your preference, but remember that the BOS is a magical object and should be treated accordingly. Many witches simply write, “The Book of Shadows of [your name]” on the front page.
2.What format should you use? Some witches are known to create elaborate Books of Shadows in secret, magical alphabets. Unless you’re fluent enough in one of these systems that you can read it without having to check notes or a chart, stick with your native language. While a spell looks beautiful written out in flowing Elvish script or Klingon lettering, the fact is that it’s just hard to read unless you’re an Elf or a Klingon.
When it comes to the contents of your personal BOS, there are a few sections that are nearly universally included.
3.Laws of your coven or tradition: Believe it or not, magic has rules. While they may vary from group to group, it’s a really good idea to keep them at the front of your BOS as a reminder of what constitutes acceptable behavior and what doesn’t. If you’re part of an eclectic tradition that doesn’t have written rules, or if you’re a solitary witch, this is a good place to write down what YOU think are acceptable rules of magic. After all, if you don’t set yourself some guidelines, how will you know when you’ve crossed over them? This may include a variation on the Wiccan Rede, or some similar concept.
4.A dedication: If you’ve been initiated into a coven, you may want to include a copy of your initiation ceremony here. However, many Wiccans dedicate themselves to a God or Goddess long before they become part of a coven. This is a good place to write out who you are dedicating yourself to, and why. This can be a lengthy essay, or it can be as simple as saying, “I, Willow, dedicate myself to the Goddess today, June 21, 2007.”
5.Gods and Goddesses: Depending on what pantheon or tradition you follow, you may have a single God and Goddess, or a number of them. Your BOS is a good place to keep legends and myths and even artwork concerning your Deity. If your practice is an eclectic blend of different spiritual paths, it’s a good idea to include that here.
6.Correspondence tables: When it comes to spellcasting, correspondence tables are some of your most important tools. Phases of the moon, herbs, stones and crystals, colors – all have different meanings and purposes. Keeping a chart of some sort in your BOS guarantees that this information will be at the ready when you really need it. If you have access to a good almanac, it’s not a bad idea to record a years’ worth of moon phases by date in your BOS.
7.Sabbat rituals: The Wheel of the Year includes eight holidays for most Wiccans and Pagans, although some traditions do not celebrate all of them. Your BOS can include rituals for each of the Sabbats. For example, for Samhain you may wish to create a rite that honors your ancestors and celebrates the end of the harvest, while for Yule you may want to write down a celebration of the winter Solstice. A Sabbat celebration can be as simple or complex as you wish.
8.Other rituals: If you’ll be celebrating each full moon, you’ll want to include an Esbat rite in your BOS. You can use the same one each month, or create several different ones tailored to the time of year. You may also wish to include sections on how to cast a circle and Drawing Down the Moon, a rite that celebrates the invoking of the Goddess at the time of the full moon. If you’ll be doing any rites for healing, prosperity, protection, or other purposes, be sure to include them here.
9.Herbs: Ask any experienced Pagan or Wiccan about a specific herb, and chances are good that they’ll expound on not only the magical uses of the plant but also the healing properties and history of use. Herbalism is often considered the core of spellcasting, because plants are an ingredient that people have used for literally thousands of years. Put together a section in your BOS for herbs and their uses. Remember, many herbs should not be ingested, so it’s important to research thoroughly before you take anything internally.
10.Divination: If you’re learning about Tarot, scrying, astrology, or any other form of divination, keep information in here. When you experiment with new methods of divination, keep a record of what you do and results you see in your Book of Shadows.
11.Sacred texts: While it’s fun to have a bunch of new shiny books on Wicca and Paganism to read, sometimes it’s just as nice to have information that’s a little more established. If there is a certain text that appeals to you, such as The Charge of the Goddess, an old prayer in an archaic language, or a particular chant that moves you, include it in your Book of Shadows.
12.Magical recipes: There’s a lot to be said for “kitchen witchery,” because for many people, the kitchen is the center of hearth and home. As you collect recipes for oils, incense, or herb blends, keep them in your BOS. You may even want to include a section of food recipes for Sabbat celebrations.
13.Spell workings: Some people prefer to keep their spells in a separate book called a grimoire, but you can also keep them in your Book of Shadows. It’s easier to keep spells organized if you divide them up by purpose: prosperity, protection, healing, etc. With each spell you include, make sure you also leave room to include information on when the working was performed and what the outcome was.
14.The biggest dilemma with any Book of Shadows is how to keep it organized. You can use tabbed dividers, create an index at the back, or if you’re really super-organized, a table of contents in the front. As you study and learn more, you’ll have more information to include – this is why the three-ring binder is such a practical idea. Some people choose instead to use a simple bound notebook, and just add to the back of it as they discover new items.
15.You may want to use one notebook for information copied from books or downloaded off the Internet, and another for original creations. Regardless, find the method that works best for you, and take good care of your Book of Shadows. After all, it’s a sacred object and should be treated accordingly!
Tips:
1.If you find a rite, spell or piece of information somewhere else, be sure to note down the source. It will help you keep organized, and you'll start to recognize patterns in authors' works.
2.Add a section that includes books you've read, as well as what you thought of them. This way, when you get a chance to share information with others, you'll remember what you've read.
3.Want to hear what other readers have done with their BOS? Be sure to check in over at our Readers Respond page!

Interviews with Vampires
Mrs/Ms. Norton,
Do let me know if you need anything else!
1. First I live in Utah a state were people are very P.C. and being different is shunned upon (people fear the LDS church) So,how would you make a coven/group friendly and appealing to Vampires who are seeking others like them?
That is a good question. Meetups used to be the best real way to meet and explore the common ground. I suggest locating likeminded people by posting on various forums and bulletins boards locally to meet at your local coffeehouses or libraries. Any quiet but public place you can sit down and get to know people.
2. How would one invite those who are interested in a group with persons like themselves without making them feel disrespected or that it would become public knowledge that they are a Vampire?
It is fairly easy to become involved. Find reputable places through The Atlanta Vampire Alliance, Sanguinarious.org and others that have been around for a long time. They respect one’s private life.
3. What's the biggest fear or concern to Vampires today?
Bing outed and losing one’s child is the biggest. There is a few court cases involving that issue actually.
4. Has this lifestyle affected you and/or other in your family?
I have almost no family so I can’t really comment on that one. But it has changed my life as it has allowed me to live life on my own terms, doing what I love – creating books and art. I have hundreds of friends all over the world and many amazing people I call best friends out of it. Without this change, I would not have had certain experiences, such as a private art lesson from Joseph Vargo of Monolithgraphics, or spent nights in Michelle Belangers vast library chatting on deep intellectual thoughts with her and friends, or attended so many events to learn how others think and feel.
5. What is the Best and worst thing about being a Vampire?
By what I know from friends, the feeling of being alone and suffering physical conditions is the worst part. The best part is sleeping in to avoid sunlight! All kidding aside, we have a huge appreciation for the cathartic value of aesthetics in music, art, literature, film and have some very wonderful people to share our existence in this dark world. I feel happy to be a part of it all.
6. Do you believe that all people should be treated equally ?
All people aren’t equal. Let us be perfectly real here. Stratification is a very obvious thing, we all have different levels of intellect and social conditioning so we collectively and individually all behave differently so it stands to reason by our very actions we all can not and should not be treated the same. By the same token, we all should be treated fairly and in accordance to our actions.
7. Are there some media Stereo types that you would like to have broken or them to stop using?
Oh I could (and did) write a book on the subject! Embracing the Darkness: Understanding Dark Subcultures was all about breaking media hype and public stereotyping! The song by Voltaire Vampire Club is full of jokes and real situations that the public uses – but sadly it is actually the various albeit small percent of the vampires themselves who contribute to the very problem. They feel they have to be a certain way to ‘be a vampire’ and are walking clichés. Just be yourself!
8. Are the current Vampire tends like Twilight and Vampire Diaries a good thing or a bad thing and why?
It brings awareness to the lifestyles and people in the community, but it is bad because it brings its own set of problems with the attention.
9. Do you feel you are well respected in the Vampire community?
I certainly would like to think so! All joking aside, The Vampire Don once told me “You are an Elder because you did something – you got off your a** and wrote a book!” I do know from fans letters and the warm welcome I get from people when I go to events they seem to like me, so I am honored and do my very best to represent them when speaking in public.
10. Are you the head of any Houses or groups in your area and are new member welcome?
I happen to be in an enormous amount of groups online but am not the head of any. I used to be co-chair and founder of The Fort Wayne Pagan Alliance of two hundred members but it eventually ended after a few years. I don’t have the time to lead any group but I do enjoy learning from many. Sociology from a sub cultural standpoint is what brought me to this type of thing in the first place.
11. Are you a Sang or A Psi Vampire?
Neither, I am an occult researcher and vampirologist (a nod to college Martin Riccardo for coining the term). I do happen to be a member of the VVC and several other groups in the community however and have been accepted as part of the community.
12. Do you have a type of religion in your life and If so, how do you balance being a Vampire and faith in your life?
I am a card carrying member of The Church of Satan, and my current rank is that of Warlock. My faith allows for me to indulge in whatever pleasing aesthetic I find harmonious to me and Satanism and Gothic classical appreciation for the finer things in life such as music, wine and ark trappings is very compatible.
13. How to you Balance your Day side life and your Vampire night side?
I can only speak for myself, but my persona is both. I tend to be pretty lucky as my life’s work as a writer and publisher keep me public just being who I am. I couldn’t imagine it being any different. But my career is not in jeopardy and I don’t have a family to worry about.
14. Do you go by a Vampire name out of protection or other reasons and why?
I go by the name that I used online to connect with people of different subcultures online from years ago so that they would be willing to open up to somebody who was not an outsider, similar to Katherine Ramsland in the beginning of Piercing the Darkness. The difference is, it stuck with me so people only know me by that pen name. But I don’t hide my real name, and use it as publisher and founder of Dark Moon Press.
15. How has the new Vampire craze effected you or others in the Vampire Community?
Myself, not really other than my books are becoming more read and I find the response by email to various articles I write for Yahoo Contributor gets positive responses. As far as other people, yes it has effected everything to the fact the lifestyle is more open to public scrutiny and growing acceptance (as evident by Allure of the Vampire: Our Sexual Attraction to the Undead by myself, and Joseph Laycock’s book Vampires Today) is used for examples in news sources for documentaries. It is a huge community and growing bigger all the time.
16. Do you think movies such as Twilight and tv shows such as Vampire diaries bring in the wrong type of person in to seeking the Real Vampire Community
Oh without a doubt! These types are not seeking the VC at all, what they want is to be told their fantasy world is real and are crushed when told it is not. The Atlanta Vampire Alliance reports that during such premieres they get huge amounts of new member applications and queries that ask questions readily available to anyone who does a careful search for sane answers. It is shocking how little people use their heads before opening their mouths these days. Deep, probing questions are fine; I just wish there were more of them.
17. Has the Internet helped or harmed the Vampire community?
Both. The internet is a double edged sword. More and more I cringe reading Face Book posts of the tripe that makes one think the online world is populated by Twilight vampire wannabes who truly think Edward is out there. But much of the Elders works can be found as well as guidance if you seek the right source. Double check and question everything!
18. Is Discresstion still very important to Vampires?
I think for legal reasons such as child custody cases and someone’s employment at stake there needs to be. One must use common sense.
19. If are an open person?are other drawn to you or do they shy away from you?
I used to be pretty shy and introverted. Now as a former radio show host and public speaker, I am out in the public much more and don’t mind the public viewing my so much. But overall I do tend to keep to myself outside of conventions and college lectures. People are somewhat intimidated by how I look even in a solid black suit but do warm up to me rather quickly.
20. How old do you tell people are and is it your true age?
Well there is no sense in lying when information is out there. I really hate the people who post “I’m a hundred year old vampire from Romania” Please. That is the reason why you don’t get credibility from the so called normals of the world.
21. Do you tend to dress the Vampire part more of the time and how does this effect you regular daily life ?
Considering I am what I am all the time, I guess so. Does an all black suit including shirt and tie with silver jewelry make one vampire or just classy? I couldn’t tell you! I do recall standing in line to cash a check and two huge linebackers were behind me when I dressed this way (of course I had long hair and a black overcoat with the suit) and one told the other to move up closer. I will never forget how the larger of the two said “Hell no man- Vampire in Brooklyn there gonna jump up and bite my neck!”
22. If I were to meet you on the street would, I guess you’re a Vampire( cause lord knows people don't guess I'm a psychic, witch, reverend, vamp)?
You just might! I typically wear all black but am well dressed (I have an image to keep –wink)I am told I have a look about me that either draws people to me or makes the avoid me, depending on your sense of awareness and empathy level. Children tend to be the most amusing for me as they are still unaffected by social contracts – that is to say they keep it real and don’t pretend! Kids will either stare and point or hide from me. I seem to fascinate them.
23. Are most Vampires Dark and Brooding, or is that my perception of the one I've met?
Many are, but you get all types and personalities in the living vampire community. That is what makes it so interesting!
24. Do you have some type of fangs?
No I never felt the need for any.
25. If you are a Sang (I once saw some questions on a Vampire site for teens it asked:) Can you smell Blood? How long can you go with out Blood? ( this one made me laugh!) Can Vampires Smell a women on her period and does it bother you?(the last question is optional!
Some people have an amazing sense of smell. Don Henrie told me of his experiences when I visited him right before the airing of his spot on Tyra Banks that his challenges were to smell and tell what foods were in front of him. Blood itself does have a very distinguished scent to it so it is very possible. Some vampires claim to be able to last months without blood, others

•••••
First I live in Utah a state were people are very P.C. and being different is
shunned upon (people fear the LDS church) So,how would you make a coven/group
friendly and appealing to Vampires who are seeking others like them?
First, I want to note that Utah is not a good place for anyone to be; I was
there myself for about a year one. If you are going to try and make the Mormons
happy the only way is to become a clone irregardless of how you feel. Remember
that this is a religion that encourages people to stop associating with anyone
who disagrees with the church, and says that the LGBT community just needs to be
cured of the harmful temptations because no one is gay. For all definitions they
are the single most powerful, and dangerous, cult in America today.
There are only two ways that I see that a group in Utah could make it. First,
and easiest, hide. Don't let anyone even catch a hint of what is going on. That
only works so long though. Also, hiding makes it easier to be preyed upon when
someone does find out; not if, when.
The second option is much more difficult, but affords much more protection; be
as public as possible. The thing is that there are two churches that claim
vampirism on a large scale; the Vampire Church, and Temple of the Vampire. Both
are utter nonsense, but they set a precedent that you are covered under US
Constitutional law. That means that any discrimination based upon being a
vampire, if played correctly, can easily fall under US anti-discrimination laws
as it would then be based on religion. It is a nasty way to go about it, but
there is not much they could do about it. This would require that your group get
some legal knowledge though.
How would one invite those who are interested in a group with persons like
themselves without making them feel disrespected or that it would become public
knowledge that they are a Vampire?
Everyone ends up in the online communities at some point. Just a simple note in
a few places would likely do.
What's the biggest fear or concern to Vampires today?
Likely that would have to be that the science gets involved and it turns out
that it really is just psychological.
When did you know or fell you were a Vampire?
I would assume feel. 14. I started wanting something that I had no idea what. My
girlfriend at the time introduced me to a local vampire group and that turned
out to be it
When did you tell other that you were a Vampire and why?
Immediately. That didn't work out so well though. I stayed hidden for quite a
long time and only in the last few years have been open about it again.
Currently, I am open about it to basically anyone, except my mother; she still
randomly threatens to send me back to the psychiatric ward.
Has this lifestyle effected you and/or other in your family?
Other than the short trip to the psych ward? Nope.
What is the Best and worst thing about being a Vampire?
Not sure there is much good. The hunger pains after not feeding for more than a
month suck. I guess the euphoria and amazingly up feeling after feeding is
fairly good though.
Do you believe that all people should be treated equally ?
Definitely. This is a common thread of most religions and cultures. My favorite
is the Arabic version that comes in multiple digestible parts."Judge what is
said not he who says it," "the injury of one innocent is an injury to all, the
death of an innocent is the death of the world." The second one is from the
Qur'an. The same is said all over though.
Are there some media Stereo types that you would like to have broken or them to
stop using?
The problem is not so much stereotyping as it is lack of anything past fiction.
Even the shows that do have actual vampires on leave the viewer coming away with
the legends more reinforced than the reality.
Are the current Vampire tends like Twilight and Vampire Diaries a good thing or
a bad thing and why?
They just are. It is a cycle in culture to go for vampires. I like the way it
was put, and I'm sure it was taken from elsewhere, in Dance in the Vampire Bund.
In the pilot the guy on the gameshow that was a professor stated that it is a
trend in legends that is easy to trace going back at least a hundred years. When
in good economic times the public goes for zombies and Frankenstein's monster
type stories. These show a great lumbering beast that can not be stopped.
However, during economic down turns they go to vampires. This represents in the
psyche of the masses a rich few sucking the life's blood out of the country and
continuing beyond their years of influence at the loss of others.
Do you fell you are well respected in the Vampire community?
No. People figure out who I am and they generally discount me instantly.
Recently I have taken to letting people know that after a while so that they see
that I am not to be held guilty by association with my ex-wife. People are
starting to know who I am now; but they also know that I will state when some
one is just making crap up, or are otherwise full of it.
Are you the head of any Houses or groups in you area and are new member
welcome?
Not the head of a house; don't want to be. Sounds like to much of a pain to me.
Are you a Sang or A Psi Vampire?
I drink blood.
Do you have a type of religion in your life and If so, how do you balance being
a Vampire and faith in your life?
I am fairly Taoist, but I do understand quite a bit about religions of the
world, and quite a few other philosophies. One of the central ideas of the Tao
is that there is not this good or bad, black and white, scenario. Instead, it is
all shades of grey, and changing by the moment. My example is this scenario: a
man shoots another. Was the shooter a cop? What about a hit man? Maybe a
soldier? Soldiers are the best for the example as one countries hero is
another's murderer.
How to you Balance your Day side life and your Vampire night side?
There is not difference. I am just me. Slightly edited at times, but always just
me.
Do you go by a Vampire name out of protection or other reasons and why?
I don't use other names any more. I have pointed out that there is no reason to
online anyway. If someone really wants to know they can trace all your aliases
easily enough; with in a few weeks generally.
How has the new Vampire craze effected you or others in the Vampire Community?
It has brought a good deal of annoying roleplaying types. That's about it.
Do you think movies such as Twilight and tv shows such as Vampire diaries
bring in the wrong type of person in to seeking the Real Vampire Community
They can. They also bring in those that have been ignoring things for their
whole life too.
Has the Internet helped or harmed the Vampire community?
Better communication is a good thing. The problem is that you can say you are a
12 foot tall harry hermaphrodite online and no one can really prove otherwise
with out a good bit of work.
Is Discresstion still very important to Vampires?
Not really. As I said, people can be tracked to their aliases easily. Just
posting one thing is enough to make a permanent connection with the community.
If are an open person?are other drawn to you or do they shy away from you?
They are fine. The worst I got was being Tolyatti to avoid talking about it
during class time and in the class room.
How old do you tell people are and is it your true age?
I am 33. I was born on July 17, 1977 in Germany. All facts.
Do you tend to dress the Vampire part more of the time and how does this effect
you regular daily life ?
I dress how I like. Usually it gets attention. Mainly people saying that they
like it. I have had one person say they didn't but they were wearing their pants
around their ankles anyway.
If I were to meet you on the street would ,I guess yor a Vampire( cause lord
knows people don't guess I'm a psychic,witch,reverend,vamp)?
Possibly. Don't know. Guess it would depend on observation and how I was doing
that day. Many on if I am drinking down some blood, but then I wouldn't be on
the street anyway.
Have you ever been outed and if so how did this effect you or other who are yor
friends and family (I do not see my self a vampire persay, but I do have vampire
friends and I assocate with many of them.,some pagans on a utah website tried to
say they would out me as I was a vampire, need less to say this site is gone
now)?
I think not applicable at this point. ^.^
Are most Vampires Dark and Bruding,or is that my pesiption of the one I've met?
Nope, that's just the drama queens.
Do you have some type of fangs?
Yup. I keep them in a case in my purse in case I feel the need to be funny.
(Imove energy ,you would call me Pis Vamp,I once blew up a clock radio with
energy from my fringer tips) If you are a Psi Vampire what weird things have
happiend to you?(if you are not skip)
I have had odd things happen. Removed a feather from the hair of one girl that
was annoying me from 1/4 mile away, had a dagger fly at me with no one near it,
and killed the power in a room by power surge one time. That has nothing with
being a psi vamp though.
If you are a Sang (I once saw some questions on a Vampire site for teens it
asked:) Can you smell Blood? How long can you go with out Blood? ( this one
made me laugh!) Can Vampires Smell a women on her period and does it bother
you?(the last question is optional!
Yes, at least 8 years, and yes/no. The 8 years was that i couldn't find a donor
for that long. I'm with out one again, but the monthly effects are still around.
That is that about once a month I go through what has been called starvation
sickness by most, and "Romanian flu" by one inventive person I know.

myself and 1 other are the head of our house ,my biggest fear is persecution , I have a heightened sense but no I can not smell menstrual blood .we dont look our age , and I have noticed I am more focused and stronger on certain things .
I do not feel as though the OVC is doing damage to our community but trying to help bring us together . And yesI feel movies lik twilight have damaged our reputation as a community , I have seen the movies and actually have some of the actors on my friends list .!
Myself have my own abilities , I am an empath , and see things . i have in our house a psychic , and a witch we welcma all new members !
, even those who just want to learn .
If we were to meet on the street you would not know that I am a Vampire .my life and my outward presentation are not gothic , but to be honest I am a tomboy , i have a garden , a job , a home , a family and look like anybody else aside from the Native American in me .
i am a sang and the only downfall to this that I personally experienced is a shortage in donors . The dnor I have now has been with me for 6 years , and is a trusted friend she is a member of our house and a very skilled witch .
We would love to be able to cme out and tell people who we are but people fear what they do not understand .
I have never blown anything up , which is remarkable , but I have seen things that I dont cared to wish on anyone and have felt the turmoil of emotions from perfect strangers , that itself is quit a turmoil with your own emotions.
As for my religion I love to explore new things so I have not settled on just one .
We do have a Wiccan , pagan , luciferian spiritualist , pagan ect within our house , and we cohabitat fine , we have learned to agree to disagree on certain things !
Myself as I said I am exploring a few religious alternatives as of right now so my religion is up in the air .
We all use our own names , I dont feel as though we should hide behind something that is not oursto use , so we useour real names .
If I am able to think of anything else I will get back to you , but I am at work right now and am on my cell phone .
Sent via Facebook Mobile .
Facebook friend: April 16 at 8:27pm Report
not all Vampires are pagan , there are several that chose to follow their own religous paths .

I certainly would like to think so!

If I am able to think of anything else I will get back to you , but I am at work right now and am on my cell phone .

not all Vampires are pagan , there are several that chose to follow their own religous paths .
Interview with a Real Vampire(not jokes!)
Mrs/Ms. Norton,
Do let me know if you need anything else!

A Wiccan woman who worked as an airport security officer for the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) in Albany, New York is claiming she was fired because of her religion. But a judge ruled the termination was "non-discriminatory," the TSA said in a statement to AOL Travel News.
Carole A. Smith said she lost her job at Albany International Airport after a series of events that started with a co-worker accusing her of casting a hex. Smith, reportedly one of the best at the airport in finding weapons and drugs, has been trying since June 2009 to get her job back.
Smith filed a complaint with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. The case is currently in the appeals process.
Selena Fox, senior minister of Circle Sanctuary church, and one of the country's preeminent Wiccan educators, said the issue here is freedom of religion.
"This is our first encounter with a religious discrimination issue regarding Wiccans and the TSA," Fox told AOL Travel News.
"She (Smith) was on the ball as a TSA person," Fox said, "She was protecting our country."
A proud Wiccan, Smith told MSNBC.com she was advised in March 2009 by a TSA official in Albany that she was being investigated for "workplace violence" after the co-worker, Smith's former mentor, accused her of casting a spell that broke the co-worker's car heater.
"I was dumbfounded," Smith said. "I told him, that's not what Wicca is. We don't cast spells. That's not witchcraft."

The assistant director of the Albany TSA office recommended Smith enter a mediation session with her accuser, but Smith declined.
"I'm like, 'No.' I refused to do that. It's not up to me to teach her my religion," Smith said.
Insubordination was later listed as one of the reasons for her firing. But before that, Smith said she was subjected to harassment by co-workers as they heard about the complaint.
"Where did you park your broom?" Smith said one co-worker asked her. "Why don't you come to work in your pointy hat?"
Smith said she has three black cats, loved the show "Wicked," once dressed as a witch for Halloween and is not embarrassed about practicing Wicca. But bullying is something else.
After the initial complaint, Smith said she was written up on a number of minor disciplinary actions. In response, she became a whistleblower, including writing up a supervisor for leaving a gate open.
The TSA argued it had good reason to fire Smith. In a statement to AOL Travel News, the agency said an Administrative Law Judge ruled in Nov. 2010 in TSA's favor, "noting that her termination from TSA was non-discriminatory."
Because the decision is being appealed, the agency declined to comment further.
Fox said the church is providing Smith support as she tries to get her TSA job back.
"Religious discrimination is very much a part of this case; at the heart of it," Fox said. "The TSA has to uphold the constitution just like any other federal agency. We have freedom of religion protected, and it shouldn't get someone fired from their job."
Fox added the Wicca religion is often misunderstood. "It has nothing to do with negative things, with the devil or anything like that," she said.
