Geodes are very exciting, because you never know what you will find inside. This Amethyst Geode from the James Madison University collection was split perfectly and you can see the Amethyst growing inside. Some geodes can be solid and will have Agates or Chalcedony inside. Elder's Meditation of the Day - April 20
"You must be prepared and know the reason why you dance." -- Thomas Yellowtail, CROW
Inside every human being is a need to dance. We dance to music. Have you even wondered why people are moved when they hear an Indian Drum? The drum is the heartbeat of the Mother Earth. Every Indian dance is for a purpose and a reason. Every Song is for a reason. The beat of the drum makes our bodies, minds, and spirits join together in harmony. It allows us to connect to Mother Earth and to each other. The dance aligns our minds to think spiritual thoughts. Dancing to the drum is healthy. Great Spirit, today, I dance to honor you.

Powerful, independent women who can wield magic and have strong, confident wills make some people uncomfortable.
Sometimes this discomfort inspires fear.
Sometimes hatred.
Sometimes violence in word or deed.
.
.
.
And to all of those who would rip and tear by word or deed in order to steal that which we have never taken from them but they have given away to nothingness, believing that only by the dominion of others may they be strong,
I
say
.
.
.
Fight and flail in your invisible, imaginary war as long as you wish.
All of your fearful hatred will be as tiny waves lapping against ancient cliffs of pure marble and stone. We barely know you are there.
We have no need to battle you.
Your war is over.
And we are not stopping.
We will never dim our glow again.

I wonder why Easter is exactly a month away from Ostara? Obviously it can't be proven the actual day of the actual Christian Resurrection. Most of the other Christian Holidays switched to the days of Pagan Holiday's are usually at least with in a months time difference? March 20th verses April 20th?

  • Jennifer Lee Yule in Dec 21 and xmas is Dec 25. The idea is to push most of them as far away from the Pagan Sabbat's as they can. Its to get people to forget about them and celebrate christian holidays instead. Which is why they make them commercial. Then it makes the Pagan holidays pale in comparison. Or its supposed to. And it sure as hell does not help when you've got Pagans celebrating them. WTH?

The reason they call it Easter is because they are trying to make Ostara disappear. Its about control and taking over, they want all non christian holidays gone. Its the way its been since Christianity came about. What better way than to steal everything and surround it with their dead zombie.

The Goddess Estore represents Ostara, so they literally took the name of the Goddess and distorted it. Easter = Estore. They have done this with all holidays in one form or another. They turned Samhain into a joke, with trick or treating and such. They have been trying tu burry Yule for decade's.

The idea to this day is still to convert everyone to Christianity. Way back when Christians adopted the Pagan celebrations, it was to get all Pagans to convert. When they refused they started murdering them. Then they would go to others and force conversion or be put to death. Thankfully that's not allowed anymore, because there would be so many murders.

That is the entire point to them stealing so much of Paganism. To get Pagans to convert, those that spoke up and refused were put to death and those that did not speak were easier to convert. Nothing like watching someone being murdered before your very eyes to make you kowtow. Thankfully, some stayed silent and lied, otherwise all of Paganism would of been erased.

And what is p!ssing me off is these idiot Pagans celebrating this christian commercial version. Its extremely offensive. Matter of fact there's an open dialog in my box filled with so-called Pagans celebrating and wishing others a happy easter. Its making me damn Ill.

We do not have to worry about Christians causing the old ways to die, its these new age, fluff bunny morons that are gonna do it for them. Its disgusting.

There was also an eclipse on the day he died.

All About Beltane
Celebrate Beltane around a Maypole!
Image © Matt Cardy/Getty Images

Depending on your particular tradition, there are many different ways you can celebrate Beltane, but the focus is nearly always on fertility and the greening of the earth. It's the time when the earth mother opens up to the fertility god, and their union brings about healthy livestock, strong crops, and new life all around.
Here are a few rituals you may want to think about trying -- and remember, any of them can be adapted for either a solitary practitioner or a small group, with just a little planning ahead. For our southern hemisphere readers, be sure to check out the Samhain links in the sidebar off to the right.

Set Up Your Beltane Altar
It's Beltane, the Sabbat when many Pagans choose to celebrate the fertility of the earth. This Sabbat is about new life, fire, passion and rebirth, so there are all kinds of creative ways you can set up for the season. Depending on how much space you have, you can try some or even all of these ideas -- obviously, someone using a bookshelf as an altar will have less flexibility than someone using a table, but use what calls to you most. Set Up Your Beltane Altar

Beltane is a celebration of fertility, and despite that it's a perfectly natural aspect of the human existence, let's face it -- some parents may not always be comfortable discussing the erect phallus of the god or the open womb of the goddess with their young children. However, in addition to sexual fertility, the Beltane sabbat is also about abundance, in many forms. Don't just focus on material gains -- it's about the growth of the earth and its bounty, and it's about increasing your own spiritual and emotional wealth. Family Abundance Ritual

Planting Ritual for Solitaries
This ritual is designed for the solitary practitioner, but it can easily be adapted for a small group to perform together. It’s a simple rite that celebrates the fertility of the planting season, and so it’s one that should be performed outside. If you don’t have a yard of your own, you can use pots of soil in place of a garden plot. Don’t worry if the weather is a bit inclement – rain shouldn’t be a deterrent to gardening. Just be sure you’re past the safe planting date for your region. Planting Ritual for Solitaries
