Witches' Garden
A witches' garden is an herb garden specifically designed and used for the cultivation of herbs, for culinary, medicinal or spiritual purposes. These purposes include: herbal baths; the making of incense; bundles for rituals, spell work and prayers; and charms, talismans and amulets.
Herb gardens developed from the general gardens of the ancient classical world, which were used for growing vegetables, flowers, fruits and medicines. For centuries wise women, cunning men and village healers understood the uses of herbs for the purposes of healing and magic.
Typical plants found within a witches' garden include: Rosemary, Sage, Parsley, Mint, Catnip, Henbane, Marjoram, Thyme, Rue, Angelica, Bay, Oregano, Dill, Aloe, Arnica, Chives and Basil.
Basil is especially common in witches' gardens as it is considered to be a strong herb of protection. It's said, "Where Basil grows, no evil goes!" and "Where Basil is, no evil lives!"
Witches' gardens are very personal spaces, and therefore each is unique to the individual Witch. You may enjoy a witches' garden not just used for the purposes of each of the herbs grown, but as a way to become more in touch with Mother Nature and become one with the Earth.

Highly toxic. All parts of the plant are extremely poisonous.
Encourages astral projection and produces visions, but belladonna is best avoided. A primary ingredient in flying ointments.
Used in funeral rituals to aspurge the circle, helping the deceased to let go and move forward.
Gather berries when they are ripe (around Samhain.) Store with onyx. Medicinally, it has been used as a sedative.
As every part of the plant is extremely poisonous, neither leaves, berries, nor root should be handled if there are any cuts or abrasions on the hands. The root is the most poisonous, the leaves and flowers less so, and the berries, except to children, least of all.
It is said that an adult may eat two or three berries without injury, but dangerous symptoms appear if more are taken, and it is wiser not to attempt the experiment.
Though so powerful in its action on the human body, the plant seems to affect some of the lower animals but little Rabbits, sheep, goats and swine eat the leaves with impunity, and birds often eat the seeds without any apparent effect, but cats and dogs are very susceptible to the poison.

Worlds Within Worlds - Our Perceptions Shape Our Reality
*There are worlds within worlds of which we are mostly unaware. I sometimes spend too much time focused on only what is visible; on what causes pain, discomfort or anxiety.
In the quest for material abundance, I sometimes lose sight of the spiritual realm and the inherent and truly powerful life-changing magic of my perceptions.
Within the seen Universe resides a plethora of invisible multi-verses, songs and notes without end, ever cascading, one song bleeding into another, all in perfect harmony.
My failure lies in my perceptions and my expectations.
Today, I will be content with what IS, and not worry about what IF. - BW
“If you can approach the world’s complexities, both its glories and its horrors, with an attitude of humble curiosity, acknowledging that however deeply you have seen, you have only scratched the surface, you will find worlds within worlds, beauties you could not heretofore imagine, and your own mundane preoccupations will shrink to proper size, not all that important in the greater scheme of things.”

"God is making use of you - you should be grateful He's found a use for you." -- Mathew King, LAKOTA
The Creator can only create through human beings. Each human being has a purpose given to us by the Creator. We are on this earth to fulfill this purpose. Our only work is to make ourselves ready, to become a channel, to perform for the Creator. We prepare ourselves by prayer. We prepare ourselves by becoming unselfish. We prepare ours...

For Your Book of Shadows: Sigil
A sigil is a symbol used in magic. The term usually refers to a type of pictorial signature. In the context of Chaos Magic, it refers to the symbolic representation of your desired outcome.
The current use of the term sigil is derived from Renaissance Magic, which was inspired by the magical traditions of antiquity.
In medieval Ceremonial Magic, the term referred to occult signs which represented various angels and demons which might be summoned.
Sigils, such as those described in The Lesser Key of Solomon, were considered to be equivalent to the true names of spirits, which granted the magician some measure of control over the beings.
(1) Pronunciation: /ˈsɪdʒəl/; the plural is sigilia or sigils; from the Latin word "sigillum" meaning "seal."

The Pagan community often pushes the idea that Women are Goddesses... They are not wrong. But all too often, they forget to equally push the idea that Men are Gods!
Here's to all the Gods walking among us tonight!

Silence is not a lack of words.
Silence is not a lack of music.
Silence is not a lack of curses.
Silence is not a lack of screams.
Silence is not a lack of colors
or voices or bodies or whistling wind.
Silence is not a lack of anything.
Silence is resting, nestling
in every leaf of every tree,
in every root and branch.
Silence is the flower sprouting
upon the branch.
Silence is the mother singing
to her newborn babe.
Silence is the mother crying
for her stillborn babe.
Silence is the life of all
these babes, whose breath
is a breath of God.
Silence is seeing and singing praises.
Silence is the roar of ocean waves.
Silence is the sandpiper dancing
on the shore.
Silence is the vastness of a whale.
Silence is a blade of grass.
Silence is sound
And silence is silence.
Silence is love, even
the love that hides in hate.
Silence is the pompous queen
and the harlot and the pimp
hugging his purse on a crowded street.
Silence is the healer dreaming
the plant, the drummer drumming
the dream. It is the lover’s
exhausted fall into sleep.
It is the call of morning birds.
Silence is God’s beat tapping all hearts.
Silence is the star kissing a flower.
Silence is a word, a hope, a candle
lighting the window of home.
Silence is everything –the renewing sleep
of Earth, the purifying dream of Water,
the purifying rage of Fire, the soaring
and spiraling flight of Air. It is all
things dissolved into no-thing–Silence
is with you always…..the Presence

Unfortunately black cats are usually the last to be adopted if they are adopted at all. If you plan to adopt a black cat you may want to do it soon because most shelters will not adopt the black cats out in October.
