Grandmother Says...
Carrots, Eggs, or Coffee; "Which are you?"
A young woman went to her grandmother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved a new one arose.
Her grandmother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water. In the first, she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs and the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil without saying a word.
In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners. She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her granddaughter, she asked, "Tell me what do you see?"
"Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.
She brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they got soft. She then asked her to take an egg and break it.
After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard-boiled egg.
Finally, she asked her to sip the coffee. The granddaughter smiled, as she tasted its rich aroma. The granddaughter then asked. "What's the point, grandmother?"
Her grandmother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity--boiling water--but each reacted differently.
The carrot went in strong, hard and unrelenting. However after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior. But, after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened.
The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water they had changed the water.
"Which are you?" she asked her granddaughter.
"When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean?"
Think of this: Which am I?
Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity, do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?
Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff?
Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and a hardened heart?
Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you.
When the hours are the darkest and trials are their greatest do you elevate to another level?

My Prayer
Dear God,
So Far today, I’ve done all right,
I haven’t gossiped.
I haven’t lost my temper.
I haven’t yelled at the children or the dog.
I haven’t smoked or had a vodka.
I haven’t been greedy, grumpy,
nasty, selfish or overindulgent.
I’m very thankful for all of that.
But…. In a few minutes God,
I’m going to get out of bed;
And from then on, I’m probably going to need a lot of help.
Amen.

This is one of my very favorite insects, the Moon Moth (aka: Luna Moth or Comet Moth). Isnt it magickal?! If you have the newest version of Llewellyn's Magickal Almanac, you will see it right on the cover too. It also features a place as the Lunesta logo.
Luna Moths are members of the Saturniidae family, also known as the "Giant Silkworm Moths."
Luna Moths are huge moths, with a wingspan of four and a half inches. They have a white body, pinkish legs, and huge pale green wings. The hindwings have eyespots and long tails.
They fly, only at night, in Spring and early Summer.
The female Luna Moth lays eggs on the bottom of Black Walnut leaves. She lays about 200 eggs in small groups.
You can tell a male from a female, because males have larger, bushier antennae.
For some beautiful pictures and more information, check out this page:http://www.fcps.edu/ islandcreekes/ecology/ luna_moth.htm
*The Moth as a totem:*
"The moth and the butterfly represent transformation, due to their metamorphosis from caterpillar to winged creature. The word for moth in old Lancashire dialect means 'soul'. The spirit of a witch is sometimes said to travel forth from the body in the form of a moth or butterfly.
Psyche, the Greek 'soul' was another word for butterfly. Psyche was the consort of Eros, and underwent many initiatory tests to prove herself worthy of him. These tests were initiated by the act of seeing her lover by lamplight. Just as the moth seeks the flame, so do we seek enlightenment and illumination.
The moth navigates by attempting to fly to the greatest light source in the night sky, the moon. Modern illumination often curtails this instinct, causing the moth to be drawn to another brighter nearby light source. In this way the moth teaches us to use discernment and to stay true to our path despite distractions."

Witchy Myths: Is a Witch Human or Not?
What exactly is a Witch?
Recently I received the question, "Are Witches Human or Not? As ridiculous as that question may sound to us, to some people it is an honest question. (I think it comes from to much TV Witch misinformation.) Therefore I am sharing my answer in our monthly Witchy Myths.
The word "Witch" comes from the Anglo-Saxon wicce (meaning witch), which in turn derives from an Indo-European root word meaning to bend or change or do magic/religion (making it related to "wicker," "wiggle," and even "vicar"). It is possibly also related to the Old Norse vitki (meaning wizard), derived from root words meaning "wise one" or "seer." "Warlock" (rarely used, for male Witches) is from the Old Norse var?lokkur, "spirit song" (not "oath-breaker").
*Related words are "Pagan," meaning a country dweller, and "Heathen," a dweller on the heath, both of which peoples were the European equivalent of the Native Americans and other indigenous, nature-worshipping people.
Today, a Witch is a woman or man who practices a life-affirming, Earth- and nature-oriented religion, honoring Divinity in female as well as (or instead of) male aspects, and practicing Magic-k (which some Witches spell "magick," to distinguish it from stage illusions).
There are many different traditions of Witches, encompassing many beliefs in addition to these. Some traditions are practiced by women only, and recognize only the Divine Feminine, the Goddess. Others include men and recognize a male god in addition to the Goddess. Some traditions may date back to before the Spanish Inquisition, others have been in existence for only a few years. The strength of the Witches' religion (also called "the Craft" or "Wicca") lies in its diversity; it is a living, growing religious tradition.
IN SHORT: A witch is someone who practices the Craft within nature and magick, (as they see it.) A Witch is someone who worships the Goddess and/or the Old Gods according to their own heart and their personal relationship with their deity. Every Witch is a priest or priestess of the old ways and beliefs. Most Witches of any tradition obey the Principle: Do as ye will, so long as ye harm none. We do what is good because it is the right thing to do. Witches are a force for Good in the universe.
We are quicksilver, a fleeting shadow, a distant sound... our home has no boundaries beyond which we cannot pass. We live in music, in a flash of color... we live on the wind and in the sparkle of a star!

Because Saturn is the planet of karma, this day is an excellent time for spellwork involving reincarnation, karmic lessons, the Mysteries, wisdom, and long-term projects. It is also a good time to being efforts that deal with the elderly, death, or the eradication of pests and disease.

No Photoshop here, this is a real Uncle Sam's Misguided Child, one of our own taken a stand and letting the people of the USA know loud and Clear "WE MARINES, DEVIL DOGS, LEATHERNECKS, ARE FED UP WITH OBAMA AND HIS WHOLE ADMINISTRATION, WE ARE FED UP WITH ALL THE CORRUPTION IN GOVERNMENT AND WHEN SHIT HITS THE FAN, WE WILL STAND BY THE PEOPLE NOT THE GOVERNMENT , WE WILL DEFEND THE CONSTITUTION"
Here is a little history about "DONT TREAD ON ME" GADSDEN FLAG you might not know!
The birth of the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps
[The seal from a 1778 $20 bill from Georgia. The financial backing for these bills was property seized from loyalists. The motto reads "Nemo me impune lacesset," i.e. "No one will provoke me with impunity."]
By 1775, the snake symbol wasn't just being printed in newspapers. It was appearing all over the colonies ... on uniform buttons ... on paper money ... and of course, on banners and flags.
The snake symbol morphed quite a bit during its rapid, widespread adoption. It wasn't cut up into pieces anymore. And it was usually shown as an American timber rattlesnake, not a generic serpent.
We don't know for certain where, when, or by whom the familiar coiled rattlesnake was first used with the warning "Don't Tread on Me."
We do know when it first entered the history books.
In the fall of 1775, the British were occupying Boston and the young Continental Army was holed up in Cambridge, woefully short on arms and ammunition. At the Battle of Bunker Hill, Washington's troops had been so low on gunpowder that they were ordered "not to fire until you see the whites of their eyes."
In October, a merchant ship called The Black Prince returned to Philadelphia from a voyage to England. On board were private letters to the Second Continental Congress that informed them that the British government was sending two ships to America loaded with arms and gunpowder for the British troops.
Congress decided that General Washington needed those arms more than General Howe. A plan was hatched to capture the British cargo ships. They authorized the creation of a Continental Navy, starting with four ships. The frigate that carried the information from England, the Black Prince, was one of the four. It was purchased, converted to a man-of-war, and renamed the Alfred.
To accompany the Navy on their first mission, Congress also authorized the mustering of five companies of Marines. The Alfred and its sailors and marines went on to achieve some of the most notable victories of the American Revolution. But that's not the story we're interested in here.
What's particularly interesting for us is that some of the Marines that enlisted that month in Philadelphia were carrying drums painted yellow, emblazoned with a fierce rattlesnake, coiled and ready to strike, with thirteen rattles, and sporting the motto "Don't Tread on Me."

"Sorry if that's crude, but the point needs to be made, and it needs to be made forcefully: P. Sufenas Virius Lupus has no more right to define any individual Pagan's personal belief than I do. This is not the Catholic Church. We aren't subject to the Nicene Creed or any other dogmatic statement of belief. Indeed, the absence of such dogmatism is what attracts many people to modern Paganism - perhaps more so than what apparently attracted Lupus, "bringing back the gods."
Dogmatics such as this are dangerous, whether they're elucidated in a Christian framework, a Pagan framework or any other context. Polytheists excluding all others on the basis of dogmatic statements is simply unacceptable - and it would be just as unacceptable if pantheists were to adopt the same position with regard to polytheists."

The groups are also asking the states of Wisconsin and Minnesota to postpone wolf hunting and trapping until the case can be decided on the merits.

Weekly Newsletter - Revealing and Removing Roadblocks
Happy New Year, everyone!
We all survived the Mayan 'apocalypse', and have watched the calendar turn from 2012 to 2013. A new year always seems to bring such wide open potential....it is a fresh start, a new chance, a do-over. It is the time to say, "my resolution this year is to ______" and really mean it. The New Year's Wishing Spell from the newsletter on December 28th helped you to set down those goals and prioritize them, then send them out in the ether to manifest.
Of course, we all know that making those New Year's resolutions is the easy part. It is usually the follow through to manifesting those goals that gets a little tricky. Failed resolutions can happen for a number of reasons.....lack of willpower or discipline, lack of knowledge of how to reach your goal, or other 'roadblocks' - mental, emotional or physical impediments to reaching your goal.
So, if your ideas for the New Year don't seem to be going in the direction you had hoped very quickly or easily, do you just give up? Absolutely not! Just because a roadblock is your path doesn't mean that it needs to stay there.
The first thing you must do is figure out what exactly your roadblocks are. Sometimes this can be really difficult, as it means admitting some things about yourself that you don't like, or don't really want to think about. But remember, the whole point of this ritual and the associated spellwork is to break down barriers, and you need to start from the inside and work out. No matter how many outside impediments you have to your goals, your single worst enemy can often be yourself. Do you lack the confidence to ask others to help you reach your goals, or are you too arrogant to listen to the people who do want to help? Are you a procrastinator who puts off important deadlines? Do you work poorly with others? Are you afraid to stand up for yourself, or are you the type that tromps all over other people without a care? Identifying the less than stellar qualities about ourselves is the biggest step in breaking down barriers to manifesting our goals through both magickal and mundane means.
The following ritual is quite lengthy, and can be exhausting. It should be performed at the New Moon.
Use this spell to reflect inwards, and find the blocks that are keeping you from happiness, harmony, or success with what you desire. This spell requires a very quiet environment, with nothing to distract you, such as a phone, radio, tv, or children. It also helps if the room is fairly dark. You need to be able to see well enough to write, but the bright lights of open windows or light fixtures can be distracting. A small lamp in one corner of the room is just about right. Make sure to give yourself plenty of time, so that you don't feel rushed to finish. It can be performed on the new moon, or up to 72 hours after, while the new moon energy is still in force. You must be ready to face things you might not want to when you perform this, so make sure you are open to learning things about yourself that you might not like, or things you might already know but have been unwilling to accept.

What you will need:
• Sage or smudge stick
• Black mirror - if you do not have a black mirror, a black iron cauldron or black bowl filled with water will work just as well.
• A picture or amulet of Ganesha, the Hindu deity known as the Remover of Obstacles and Lord of Beginnings. A picture printed off your computer will be fine.
• One white candle, on dark blue candle and one black candle with holders (6" or taller or small pillars work best for this)
• White paper and a pen - in this instance, do not use recycled paper, as you do not want whatever the previous paper was used for to come through in your spell
• Candle scribe or toothpick
• An oil to open the third eye chakra, such as Pisces, Frankincense, Jasmine or Sandalwood
• Incense used for divination, such as Divination, Lemongrass, or Apollo. To make Apollo incense, mix together 4 parts Frankincense, 2 parts Myrrh, 2 parts Cinnamon, and 1 part Bay. Grind in a mortar and pestle and sprinkle over hot charcoal just before you begin your ritual.
Using the sage, smudge yourself, your supplies and the area you will be working in well. You want to remove any residual energy, negative or positive. Like the New Moon, you want the area you are in to be a blank slate, with as little to influence you as possible. Place the mirror or bowl of water in the center of your altar or workspace. This spell is best done sitting down, so if your altar is tall (like mine), you may want to move your altar cloth and supplies to a table or the floor.
Place the black candle to the top left of the mirror or bowl, Ganesha in the center top, and the white candle to the top right. Using your scribe or toothpick, on the black candle, starting at the top, draw a picture of an eye and the Dagaz rune, below that your name, and at the bottom the words, "I accept what I see". On the white candle, starting at the top, draw a picture of the Sun, the Jera rune, your name and the words "New Beginning". Place your incense and burner above Ganesha.
Call your corners, cast your circle, or any other opening to your ritual that your tradition requires. Anoint your crown, third eye and heart chakras with the oil, as well as your inner wrists. Seat yourself before the bowl, and light your black candle. Repeat these words three times:
I call upon the blessed air,
Blow deep within and lay me bare.
Show me what I need to see,
Give me strength and clarity.
Let me face what I am shown,
And have no fear of the unknown.
I set this spell three times three,
As I will, so shall it be.
Gaze into the black mirror or bowl, clearing your mind and focusing on allowing yourself to see what it is that is blocking you from peace, harmony, success, or the things you desire. This experience is different for every person - it is the facing of the black mirror I have mentioned before. You must be ready to explore truths about yourself, your relationships, or situations your are in that you don't like or find very hard to admit. Finding these truths is crucial to breaking the barriers that are keeping your from what you want. As they come to you, write them down on the paper. Makes notes about what you are seeing and feeling, and any images you see in the mirror.
The length of time this process takes varies. When you feel it is time to stop, then do so. You may feel tired, angry, or depressed. Don't be. Breaking down these barriers is a crucial part of manifesting what you truly desire.
Using your candle scribe or toothpick, carve your name into the dark blue candle. Anoint it with the same oil you used to open your Third Eye. Place the notes you took during your black mirror meditation underneath the holder.
Light the blue candle, then the white candle and say these words three times:
Ganesha, this I ask of you,
Let me now begin anew.
Untie the ropes that hold me back,
Shown here now in mirror black.
With wisdom of the aging crone,
I face now the great unknown.
I set this spell three times three,
As I will, so mote it be.
When the candles have burned down completely, take the leftover wax and wick of the blue candle and the picture or amulet of Ganesha and place them in a small charm bag in your car. Take the wax and wick leftover from the black candle and bury it in the ground. Take the leftover wax and wick from the white candle and place it near the front entrance of your home, such as under the welcome mat or in a flower pot.
Have a marvelous, magical, and blessed week!

Stargazing For Tonight-
In early evening at this time of year, the Great Square of Pegasus balances on one corner high in the west. The vast Andromeda-Pegasus constellation complex runs all the way from near the zenith (Andromeda's foot) down through the Great Square (Pegasus's body) to low in the west (Pegasus's nose). Cancer, the crab, scuttles high across the sky on January nights. It’s a sprinkle of faint stars between Gemini and Leo. One of those stars has at least five planets, making it one of the busiest planetary systems outside our own.

'The entire teaching faculty at Garfield High School (with only three abstentions) voted to support a boycott against administering the Measures of Academic Progress (MAP) this week or ever again. Garfield is the largest of thirteen high schools in the Seattle Public School (SPS) system.
In a press release, Kris McBride, Garfield’s academic dean and testing coordinator, said the test “produces specious results, and wreaks havoc on limited school resources” during the weeks the test is administered.
On Friday, teachers at Ballard High School said they would join the boycott as well. National support for the teachers was also growing online, as a petition circulated and a facebook page for the teachers materialized.
Following some fear that the Garfield teachers could face disciplinary action, well-known education policy expert Diane Ravitch was among those using social media to garner additional support for their cause on Saturday...'

A dragon should never be engaged in conversation as they are inveterate liars and tricksters, though if you're actually talking to a dragon, you're pretty much toast anyway. Never, ever call a dragon a worm, no matter how much they're asking for it.”

R.I.P. Aaron Swartz
Adding to the list of mysterious deaths that have happened over the last few days, internet visionary and brilliant internet activist Aaron Swartz was found dead yesterday.
The news labels him as merely the co-founder of Reddit. What they forget, is he was a fiery young man spearheading the internet freedom movement.
he is also the co-creator of RSS technology, and the KEY ACTIVIST who achieved a stunning defeat of the freedom-crushing SOPA / PIPA bills in the U.S. Congress. and the Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act (CISPA).
Without the internet, the liberty movement is severely crippled. Without a free and open internet, you wouldn't be reading this. Without a free internet, we wouldn't exist. If not for Aaron and DP, those bills may just have killed it.
We at CTWJV have much gratitude for his work. In maintaining the freedom of the World Wide Web, he helped to preserve, for now, what is possibly the greatest tool for preserving our great Republic.
May he rest in peace, but let us never forget who drove him to this point. The United States Government's relentless persecution of a patriot, the hallmark of our tyrannical regime, is the reason he is no longer with us.
This is the reason we must keep fighting. His untimely death shall not be in vain. The best way to celebrate his legacy, is to fight to preserve it.
Rest In Peace, Aaron Swartz. Be assured that your life was not in vain.

How to do Fireplace Magick
With the cold of winter setting in on many of us I wanted to share some magick that can be worked with and around your fireplaces. Let the powers of magick warm your heart and spirit.
The fireplace has long been regarded as the magickal portal of a home. It was through this opening that Witches were said to fly away on their broomsticks, and in modern mythology it is the opening through which Santa Claus comes and goes. The fireplace once was the center of home life. In it food was cooked, clothes washed, and by its light, families gathered to visit and tell stories. Due to its vital importance, people developed ways to protect the fireplace, such as tossing a handful of oak leaves, cloves, holly, rosemary, frankincense, cinnamon, or nettles onto the already smoldering fire.
Setting a Witch's besom (broom) near the fireplace or crossing the andirons were also ways of blocking negativity from entering the house. Keeping a cauldron boiling on the hearth was another. Some fireplaces were decorated with three concentric circles above the opening. This probably harkens back to a very old belief that the Triple Goddess protected any home wherein a fire was kindled. The sun god Lugh could also be called upon to protect the hearth by hanging a pouch containing the first grain of the harvest on the mantle. This was also a charm for fertility.
Other herbs were often hung to dry near the hearth, the heat and dryness curing and preserving the plants until they were ready to be used. These herbs could be enchanted and hung up as an additional talisman of protection.
Scrying by hearth light is a relaxing pastime, and gazing softly into a roaring fire to catch glimpses of visions is an age-old practice. You can predict the future by the manner in which the coals, peat, or wood burns.
The fireplace can be as magickal as your imagination will allow. Here you are working directly with the transformative element of fire, and how you choose to utilize it is up to you and your inner self.

Question:
My father is very sick. I am so worried that I’m making myself sick. I know that there is nothing I can do medically to make him better. How can I help him and myself without running away?
Answer:
The best way to help him right now is to help yourself first. A sympathetic connection with your father is tying you into his debilitated condition. You might have a mistaken subconscious belief that if you are sick too, then you are showing true love and compassion and therefore he will somehow get better. Unfortunately your emotional bond to him is weakening you instead of strengthening him.
Know that the only way for you to help him is to be a source of love, strength, and joy, and you can only do that if you are healthy and strong yourself. If you worry yourself sick, it will not make your father better, it will probably only make him more ill.
You don’t have to run away from him to take care of yourself first. It is more of a change of perspective than anything else. It is realizing that you are doing what you can and not trying to do what you cannot do.

The most powerful German economic corporate emporium in the first half of this century was the Interessengemeinschaft Farben or IG Farben, for short. Interessengemeinschaft stands for "Association of Common Interests" and was nothing more than a powerful cartel of BASF, Bayer, Hoechst, and other German chemical and pharmaceutical companies. IG Farben was the single largest donor to the election campaign of Adolph Hitler. One year before Hitler seized power, IG Farben donated 400,000 marks to Hitler and his Nazi party. Coping Tips for Empaths
Coping Tips for Empaths Being an empath can be physically and emotionally draining. Many people are unaware that they’re an empath and do not know how to cope with this ability. Develop Your Shield Body Around your physical body, there is a layer of your aura that is devoted to your interface with your environment. Its shape and condition indicate your relationship to yo
ur world. People who are empaths often have a "thin skin" in relation to their shield body. When it has holes in it, we are more easily influenced by our environment. Visualize a shield of energy around your physical body. See it as being radiant and complete. You may see it as a particular color. Some people like to see it as white or gold. Decide what color would work well for you, and see it that way. Imagine the shield body as flowing and moving, not static. We are developing a shield here, not armor. It is good for it to be flexible, so you can let in what serves you, and keep out what doesn't. Snap your fingers to hold it in place. Do this exercise regularly. Center of Being Once you have the shield body in place, imagine that there is a spark in the center of your being that is your pure essence. Focus your attention on the spark, bring all your senses to bear. Also be aware of your sensations, emotions and thoughts. First try this when you are alone, and then, after a time, practice it around others. See if you can switch your awareness from your environment to your self, and back again. Notice the difference between the two. Don't Take On Responsibilities That Aren't Yours A person can get so used to care taking that they can feel as though they are supposed to do it. You are not. It is good to be as compassionate as possible without going beyond the limits of what you need to do to maintain your health and sanity. You are responsible up to that line, and not beyond it. If you are an empath, your idea of where the line is might be a bit fuzzy. Once you get to know where the line is, try to stick to it. It will make all your relationships clearer and cleaner. Get Used To Being the Bad Guy Empaths are often outwardly kind and caring. They usually get the benefit of everyone thinking that they are almost saintly sometimes. It is easy to get attached to being the "nice guy." It is not easy dealing with people's negative emotions, but care-taking others does not ultimately serve them or you. It does not help them to protect them from their feelings. It keeps them from growing up. Besides, it's not real. It's much better to live in reality than a padded reality. Yes, they may get angry or sad at you or with you if you don't do what they want you to do, but it is important to remember that their feelings are not your feelings, and your well-being is not dependent on their well being. Develop Your Throat Chakra Sometimes an empath will know what they need to say or do to make good boundaries, but have a hard time following through in expressing it. The throat chakra is the center for the expression of personal truth. Through the opening of the throat chakra, we open ourselves to expressing our true needs and feelings, as well as expressing the creative force as it moves through us. Some good exercises for opening the throat chakra are singing and chanting, sharing your feelings and thoughts with friends, and meditating on the throat chakra. Some healing stones that help with the throat chakra are chrysacolla, turquoise, lapis lazuli, amazonite, and blue lace agate. You can meditate with them, put them in a medicine bag, or wear jewelry (particularly necklaces). Develop Your Root Chakra The root chakra helps us to deal with being fully in the world. When the root chakra is open, we are fully grounded and present with whatever is coming our way. When it is not open, we can be disassociative, fearful, and have difficulty staying present with what is going on. Opening and healing the root chakra helps us to release the fears that keep us from our highest manifestation within form. Some exercises that help to open the root chakra are: Imagine you are sending roots down into the earth from your base. Imagine you can breathe in and out of your root center. On the inhale, breathe in energy from the earth. On the exhale, release any thing that is within you that does not serve you out of the root center and into the Earth. Some healing stones that you might find helpful are: obsidian Kansas pop rocks hematite and red jasper. Smudging And Clearing Regularly Whether you are having difficulty with your empathic abilities or not, it is a good idea to smudge yourself regularly to release other people's energy and influence from your energy body. Smudging is a way to clear your energy by waving incense around your body. Sage, copal, frankincense, and Palo Santo are all recommended. Other good clearing methods are: showering, bathing and spending time in solitude. Take a Clary Sage bath This is the single most effective thing you can do to clear all that emotional funk away. And I do mean bath – a shower doesn’t permeate in the same manner. You don’t need candles or anything else, just a nice hot bath and some privacy. Give it a good 15 minutes and you will feel much, much better. I recommend it before going to bed, as you can carry all that crap through your sleep and still wake up with it, otherwise. If you can't find sage bubble bath, it's ok, anything will work, I just really love the sage. Breathe Wherever you are, stop what you’re doing for 5 minutes and just breathe. You should be inhaling through the nose and from the diaphragm. Slowly. And then you should be exhaling slowly, through the lips – don’t just open your mouth and blow it all out. Pretend you’re blowing on a cup of hot coffee; that’s the kind of blowing you want. Slow and steady. Imagine that each time you inhale you are drawing all that crap up to the surface, and then expelling it when you exhale. If you practice, that will be precisely what you learn to do, eventually. Do not overdo it initially – deep breathing can release all kinds of emotional junk you weren’t previously cognizant of, and that will just make you feel worse. Really, really worse. So take it slow until you’re more skilled at it. A few deep breaths is enough when you’re just learning.

Americans never give up your guns
By Stanislav Mishin
These days, there are few things to admire about the socialist, bankrupt and culturally degenerating USA, but at least so far, one thing remains: the right to bear arms and use deadly force to defend one's self and possessions.
This will probably come as a total shock to most of my Western readers, but at one point, Russia was one of the most heavily armed societies on earth. This was, of course, when we were free under the Tsar. Weapons, from swords and spears to pistols, rifles and shotguns were everywhere, common items. People carried them concealed, they carried them holstered. Fighting knives were a prominent part of many traditional attires and those little tubes criss crossing on the costumes of Cossacks and various Caucasian peoples? Well those are bullet holders for rifles.
Various armies, such as the Poles, during the Смута (Times of Troubles), or Napoleon, or the Germans even as the Tsarist state collapsed under the weight of WW1 and Wall Street monies, found that holding Russian lands was much much harder than taking them and taking was no easy walk in the park but a blood bath all its own. In holding, one faced an extremely well armed and aggressive population Hell bent on exterminating or driving out the aggressor.
This well armed population was what allowed the various White factions to rise up, no matter how disorganized politically and militarily they were in 1918 and wage a savage civil war against the Reds. It should be noted that many of these armies were armed peasants, villagers, farmers and merchants, protecting their own. If it had not been for Washington's clandestine support of and for the Reds, history would have gone quite differently.
Moscow fell, for example, not from a lack of weapons to defend it, but from the lying guile of the Reds. Ten thousand Reds took Moscow and were opposed only by some few hundreds of officer cadets and their instructors. Even then the battle was fierce and losses high. However, in the city alone, at that time, lived over 30,000 military officers (both active and retired), all with their own issued weapons and ammunition, plus tens of thousands of other citizens who were armed. The Soviets promised to leave them all alone if they did not intervene. They did not and for that were asked afterwards to come register themselves and their weapons: where they were promptly shot.
Of course being savages, murderers and liars does not mean being stupid and the Reds learned from their Civil War experience. One of the first things they did was to disarm the population. From that point, mass repression, mass arrests, mass deportations, mass murder, mass starvation were all a safe game for the powers that were. The worst they had to fear was a pitchfork in the guts or a knife in the back or the occasional hunting rifle. Not much for soldiers.
To this day, with the Soviet Union now dead 21 years, with a whole generation born and raised to adulthood without the SU, we are still denied our basic and traditional rights to self defense. Why? We are told that everyone would just start shooting each other and crime would be everywhere....but criminals are still armed and still murdering and too often, especially in the far regions, those criminals wear the uniforms of the police. The fact that everyone would start shooting is also laughable when statistics are examined.
While President Putin pushes through reforms, the local authorities, especially in our vast hinterland, do not feel they need to act like they work for the people. They do as they please, a tyrannical class who knows they have absolutely nothing to fear from a relatively unarmed population. This in turn breeds not respect but absolute contempt and often enough, criminal abuse.
For those of us fighting for our traditional rights, the US 2nd Amendment is a rare light in an ever darkening room. Governments will use the excuse of trying to protect the people from maniacs and crime, but are in reality, it is the bureaucrats protecting their power and position. In all cases where guns are banned, gun crime continues and often increases. As for maniacs, be it nuts with cars (NYC, Chapel Hill NC), swords (Japan), knives (China) or home made bombs (everywhere), insane people strike. They throw acid (Pakistan, UK), they throw fire bombs (France), they attack. What is worse, is, that the best way to stop a maniac is not psychology or jail or "talking to them", it is a bullet in the head, that is why they are a maniac, because they are incapable of living in reality or stopping themselves.
The excuse that people will start shooting each other is also plain and silly. So it is our politicians saying that our society is full of incapable adolescents who can never be trusted? Then, please explain how we can trust them or the police, who themselves grew up and came from the same culture?
No it is about power and a total power over the people. There is a lot of desire to bad mouth the Tsar, particularly by the Communists, who claim he was a tyrant, and yet under him we were armed and under the progressives disarmed. Do not be fooled by a belief that progressives, leftists hate guns. Oh, no, they do not. What they hate is guns in the hands of those who are not marching in lock step of their ideology. They hate guns in the hands of those who think for themselves and do not obey without question. They hate guns in those whom they have slated for a barrel to the back of the ear.
So, do not fall for the false promises and do not extinguish the light that is left to allow humanity a measure of self respect.

Communication with Spirits
Communication with spirits is a fundamental part of magic. None of is an island, either in the mundane physical world or in the spiritual world. Spiritual influences are all around us whether we acknowledge them or not.
It's true that some people are more naturally in tune with the spirit world, which might be described as a variety of different channels or stations on your old-fashioned television or radio dial. If you turn it slightly to one direction or another, you will sometimes see or hear a bleeding over of images and sounds. This is very similar to the process of communicating with spirits.
Spirit communication is commonly regarded as entertainment, but the fact is some important information has been received from those who are no longer on this plane or never were.
Many great writers, scientists and inventors have quietly claimed to have receive knowledge from spirits. It is well-known that Thomas Edison was interested in spirit communication. And, according to, at least, one person close to Nikola Tesla (the inventory of AC current, bladeless turbines, the high voltage Tesla coil and who laid the ground work for the wireless technology of today with his wireless communication devices) received communications from spirits.
Jane Roberts received the Seth material through the Ouija board, which became a series of popular books. Several novels and poetry were received by Pearl Lenore Curran from the discarnate entity she called Patience Worth. And, their are numerous instances of writers receiving material from deceased famous authors through the use of spirit communication.
In recent years technology has begun to play a greater role in spirit communication with the advances of George W. Meeks. Paranormal researchers have created fairly simple boxes that work on the principle of radio signals and white noise and must be intuitively tuned (very much like a radionics computer) to receive audible and intelligible communications from spirits in real time.
How Spirit Communication Can Help You
The average person who is very grounded in his or her physical world and cut off from what is commonly called the spiritual self. Learning to communicate with spirits helps you to tap into your own intution. This is the voice in your head that warns you when a member of your family is in some kind of trouble or that if you turn down a certain street something bad might happen. It is a kind of knowing that occurs when there is no rational, physical explanation for this knowing.
Intuition is the kernel or seed of spirit communication, which can and must be developed.
Increasing this power can help you do many things. For example you can:
Learn the wereabouts of lost people, animals or things.
Send thoughts or suggestions to others at a distance.
Receive messages from the other worlds
Improve your life, your health and your relationships.
Be comforted and receive messages from deceased relatives and friends.
Receive information of use to you in your particular field or career.
Help others in many different ways
The Reality of Spirit Communication
(and Why it is Often Denied)
One of the biggest obstacles people have to overcome in the pursuit of successful spirit communications is disbelief - both their own and that of others.
We have been conditioned by everything in our world - government mandated education; television, movies, mainstream religion and even each other - to believe that spirit communication is a fantasy. Governments around the world who seek the power to control the masses and to conduct warfare against other nations have suppressed psychics and in most decadesin the past have criminalized spirit communication while secretly using psychics and well-known occultists.
In Britain, Winston Churchill enlisted the help of well-known psychic occultists Aleister Crowley and Dion Fortune in their war effort, while prosecuting spiritualists conducting home circles at the very same time.

10 Things You Need to Know About Native American Women
By Laura Paskus
It’s no exaggeration to say that American Indian women are missing from most media coverage, history books and classroom discussions. But at least journalism students, instructors and state educators in Nebraska are doing something to help end America’s ignorance of Native women and the contributions they make to their communities, their tribes and to the nation as a whole.
Last year, the University of Nebraska-Lincoln College of Journalism and Mass Communications published the magazine, Native Daughters. With a grant from the Carnegie Foundation and under the guidance of five university professors, students spent 18 months reporting and writing about American Indian women who are artists, activists, lawyers, cops, warriors, healers, storytellers and leaders.
Now the Nebraska Department of Education has also released a companion curriculum for the magazine. You can download it for free here.
Can’t wait even one minute more to learn about Native women? Here’s a teaser of what you can learn more about in Native Daughters—and what you can share with your students via the new curriculum.
1. “A lot of people think that us women are not leaders, but we are the heart of the nation, we are the center of our home, and it is us who decide how it will be.”–Philomine Lakota, Lakota language teacher, Red Cloud High School, Pine Ridge, S.D.
2. The art forms Native women practice stand as reminders of cultural endurance. “Their crafts survived the Greasy Grass (Battle of Little Big Horn), Wounded Knee One (1890) and Two (1973),” writes Christina DeVries in Native Daughters. “Their spirits survived the Trail of Tears, the Relocation and Termination program and continued struggles against cultural annihilation.”
3. In 1997, Ms. magazine named Winona LaDuke (Anishinaabeg) Woman of the Year. That same year, the activist also debuted her first novel, Last Standing Woman.
4. Of nearly 2 million women enlisted in the U.S. armed forces, 18,000 are American Indian women. Their representation in the military is disproportionately high—and Native women are more likely to be sexually harassed, which increases their chances of developing post-traumatic stress disorder.
5. The number of Native women applying to medical school has increased since 2003, peaking in 2007 when 77 Native women applied nationwide.
6. In 2007, when Cassandra Manuelito-Kerkvliet (Diné) was named president of Antioch University, she became the first American Indian woman president of a mainstream university. Not only that, but about half of the nation’s tribal colleges are led by Native women presidents.
7. Cecelia Fire Thunder (Lakota) became the Oglala Lakota Tribe’s first woman president. She has fought against domestic abuse, saying it’s not a part of traditional culture, and been a leader for women’s reproductive rights. In 2006, when the South Dakota state legislature prohibited abortion, Fire Thunder announced plans to build a women’s clinic on the reservation, and therefore beyond state jurisdiction. She was impeached by the tribal council, who said she was acting outside her duties as president.
8. Women lead nearly one-quarter of the nation’s 562 federally recognized tribes.
9. “Through the late 1700s, Cherokee women were civically engaged. They owned land and had a say during wartime,” writes Astrid Munn in Native Daughters. “But this changed after the tribe ceded large tracts of land to the U.S. government in 1795.” Since the mid-1980s, though, a generation of Native women activists, lawmakers and attorneys have been changing that history and working to empower women again.
10. Indian Country could never survive without Native women.

True Path Walkers
Obligations of the True Path Walkers
To bring back the natural harmony that humans once enjoyed.
To save the planet from present practices of destruction.
To find and re-employ real truth.
To promote true balance between both genders.
To share and be less materialistic.
To become rid of prejudice.
To learn to be related.
To be kind to animals and take no more than we need.
To play with one's children and love each equally and fairly.
To be brave and courageous, enough so,
To take a stand and make a commitment.
To understand what Generations Unborn really means.
To accept the Great Mystery
in order to end foolish argument over religion.
